It been a lazy Sunday and I have spent some of it in front of my computer going through old images.

I came across this impromptu portrait shoot that I did last March. I just didn’t feel like lugging camera gear around this particular day so I decided to shoot with the bare minimum. Let’s face it, you can’t get much more minimum than a mobile phone camera. Throw in one of the many Apps available and you can create some interesting effects. In this case I used Hipstamatic. I like it because you can change the film type, lens type and also the flash type giving so many different combinations you never really know what creative effect you may end up with. When I started out on my photography journey I was shooting exclusively with film which is probably why I love that these digital images have an old school analog feel to them.

NASA Releases The Highest Resolution Photo Ever Taken Of Earth!

Every year since 1972 NASA has released a photo of Earth taken from space called “Blue Marble”. For this years edition NASA decided to raise the bar a little. They used a new satellite that was launched into orbit on October 28th, 2011. The satellite, named Suomi NPP, captured numerous photos of Earth taken this January 4th for use in a composite photo. The resulting image is a 64 Megapixel masterpiece that trumps any previous “Blue Marble” photo in resolution. Below is the image along with a link to the much larger sized version on Flickr.

It would be the same philosophy I have on life: learn from your mistakes, push your boundaries, step out of your comfort zone and always put yourself in the other person’s shoes.

Oh and probably most importantly… NEVER GIVE UP! EVER!
